Position Overview

Regular, full-time faculty member (assistant or associate professor) in transportation engineering (e.g., planning, traffic operations, safety, transportation construction or other areas) to perform teaching, research and service in the department of civil, construction and environmental engineering at Marquette University. Knowledge of data analytics and/or artificial intelligence is desirable. The position is tenure track, but tenure will not be granted upon hiring, even at the associate professor rank. The successful candidate must work towards tenure based on the college and university promotion and tenure guidelines and process.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Teach undergraduate and graduate classes as instructor of record
2. Perform and supervise research
3. Perform internal service to the department of civil, construction and environmental engineering, Opus college of engineering, Marquette University and external service to the professional and civic community related to civil engineering and academia.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research. Expertise in transportation engineering.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Expertise in data analytics/AI
- Professional engineer license
- Record of successful teaching at the university level as instructor of record
